The ViaSat-1 launch occurred at the Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan on October 19, 2011, ViaSat-1 became the record-holder for highest capacity satellite in the world at the time. The ViaSat-1 satellite broadband coverage included the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada.
